Information
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg was created in 1933 by Jeanne Gibourg and André Mugneret. Their son, Georges Mugneret, took over the domaine and expanded it. Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée, the daughters of Georges and Jacqueline, now run it. The vineyards are distributed over the appellations of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Ruchottes-Chambertin and Clos Vougeot. The wines of this domaine have a very classic style and its quality has improved a lot in recent years. The cuvées can be presented under two labels, Georges Mugneret and Mugneret-Gibourg.
This wine is deep in colour. Its nose is expressive with aromas of cherry and liquorice. On the palate, its flavours develop with finesse, revealing delicately earthy notes. Whilst young, its more vegetal aromas will go with dishes like oeuf en meurette, and after a few years of ageing it will pair well with meat and sauce.
