Founded by Claude Bertagna in the 1950s, Domaine Bertagna has belonged to the Günther Reh family for over thirty years, and over the last few years has enjoyed significant investment designed to modernise it, pushed forward by its current manager Eva Reh-Siddle. As a result, it now features among some of Burgundy's most renowned domains.
Vougeot Premier Cru Clos de La Perrière is vinified using indigenous yeasts only. The extraction process involves manual punch-downs and élevage in barrels (50% new wood) takes 16 to 18 months. The nose exudes heady aromas of red and dark fruits with some violet notes. On the palate, finesse reigns supreme. The tannins are remarkably silky with depth, fruitiness, and freshness. Everything culminates in a delightfully long finish.
