Information
Gérard Harmand now runs the Harmand-Geoffroy family domaine, whose creation dates back to the 19th century. The vineyard covers a little less than 10 hectares in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, with a majority of premier crus and a grand cru, the Mazis-Chambertin. The vines are relatively old (about fifty years) and the cultivation is conducted in a sustainable manner. The quality of the wines has progressed well in recent years, they are harmonious, with body and intense fruity aromas.
Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is produced in a plot located below the Les Champeaux premier cru, in a stony limestone terroir. This wine is élevaged in 50% new oak barrels. The wine is complex and deep, with body and refined tannins. With a good laying-down potential, it is a good match for game such as roe deer and doe.
