Information
From one of the oldest families of wine growers in Burgundy, Bernard Gros is today at the head of Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur, which has a total of 21 hectares and an absolutely exceptional grand cru heritage: Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot, Grands Echezeaux and Echezeaux. The 36.62 acre vineyard of Grands-échezeaux runs along Clos de Vougeot. Domaine Gros Frère & Soeur is located in Vosne Romanée. A dozen years ago, Bernard Gros replanted the vines to improve the quality. His wines are regularly hailed by critics.
Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru (without the addition of a climat name) presents a very dark black cherry colour. The nose offers a complex bouquet, with aromas of undergrowth, black berries and leather, with some spicy notes (pepper). In the mouth, the body is dense and the tannins show an attractive, velvety refinement. This wine should be allowed to age for a few years to let it express its full potential.
