Information
This prestigious domain has belonged for nearly two centuries to the heirs of René Bonneau du Martray, himself descendant of the founder. Jean-Charles Le Bault de la Morinière will have marked the history of Bonneau du Martray with his will to be the most faithful witness of the land of Corton. In January 2017, he announced the sale of the domain to Stanley Kroenke, owner of the Californian estate Screaming Eagle. Ideally located on the hill of Corton, the winery produces two Grand Crus: red (Corton) and white (Corton-Charlemagne). The latter is the flagship wine of the estate Bonneau du Martray, causing his world fame with the great reviews as lovers of fine wines. Old vines, aged 40 on average, rigorously selected grapes, and controlled yields ... attention at all times, from the vineyard to the cellar. The wine is vinified gently to let the grapes express their legendary finesse and aromatic qualities, and is traditionally aged in oak barrels. An iconic Burgundy wine.
This wine is vinified gently, to allow it to express its finesse and legendary aromatic qualities, and then barrel-matured the traditional way, in oak. The Domaine’s Corton is produced on 1.5 hectares. It is remarkably rich, refined, and structured, with intense fruit and flower aromas. Although less well known than the domaine’s white wine, the Corton red is sublime and ages beautifully.
