Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes Lafarge (Domaine)
Information
About the producer

Lafarge is a family-owned domain of 12 hectares, established in Volnay since the 19th century. Since then, each generation has strived to make it prosper and grow. In 1949 Michel and his father ran the domain; his son Frédéric joined them in 1978. From 1997 he started to use biodynamics in the domain and since 2000 all the vineyards are organically cultivated.

About the wine

Clos des Chênes used to have oak trees planted in the vineyards, which gave the wines a particularly subtle taste, full of sap and grace and expressing violet aromas. Generally, Volnay des Chênes combines richness and generosity without losing the reputed elegance and finesse of the Volnay wines.
