Information
A blend of mainly Grenache with around 10% Mourvèdre, Le Roi Nu is a cuvée crafted by a young, Danish producer who founded his domain in Collioure in 2017. He studied biology in his native country before heading to Banyuls to learn the tricks of the wine trade. Enamoured with the region, he stayed to start his own domain, acquiring two hectares of vineyard that he cultivates with great care. The vines see no chemical products and the grapes are vinified as naturally as possible, without additives and using wild yeasts.
This wine is made to be aged, subtly marrying southern generosity with the freshness conferred by the Mediterranean Sea. It is intensely red in appearance with a dense aromatic bouquet; red and black fruit, garrigue, spices, musk, and leather. Enveloped in firm tannins, this wine will serve well with a rich dish like red meat, stuffed pumpkin, or a cream of chestnut soup.
