Information
The family domain Henri Magnien crafts an atypical Gevrey-Chambertin premier cru. It is the fruit of blending the best grapes from the different premiers crus of Lauvaux-Saint-Jacques, Les Champeaux, Les Cazetiers and Estournelles-Saint-Jacques.
This is a dense, generous, and powerful cuvée. Its ruby red hue exudes diverse notes of red fruit (cherry, raspberry), black fruit, wild berries, violet, jasmine, pepper, tonka bean, as well as notes conferred during maturation such as gentle spice and toasted bread. Its palate is structured by delicate but taut tannins, and it requires a few years of ageing to soften.
We recommend opening this wine one or two hours before serving. You could pair it with a flavourful dish like mushroom tart.
