Information
The Orliac family, who have owned Domaine de l'Hortus for 25 years, are here represented by Marie-Thérèse and Jean, who have gradually built a name for themselves as one of the iconic domains in this appellation. They preside over 50 hectares of vines which benefit from a northeast facing, limestone terroir. Respectful of both Nature and Man, they are meticulous in their winegrowing and making.
This blend of Chardonnay, Viognier and Petit Manseng is produced in a marl-limestone terroir with northerly and easterly exposure. Following cold racking and eight months' élevage on fine lees (with stirring), the wine reveals a golden colour and a bouquet exuding a variety of notes of fruit, vanilla, white flowers and fresh almonds. The rounded palate is enlivened by an appealing acidity, lending it great freshness.
