Information
Domain Marcassin is located in Sonoma Valley to the north of California, at 100km from Sacramento. The domain owes a lot to Robert Parker, a big fan of the domain, who made their wines known to the whole world. The wines are produced with meticulous care: for the white wines, the Chardonnay grapes are harvested early in the morning, often before sunrise, to retain the greatest amount of freshness. The grapes are transported in refrigerated vans before undergoing fermentation.
For the reds, the grapes are destemmed and placed in fermenting vats which correspond to the size of each parcel’s harvest. The wines are fermented with ambient yeasts and raised in new oak barrels for 12 months. The domain only releases its wines on the market when they are ready to drink (usually 5 years after the vintage). The wines are bottled without filtration. They are superb cellaring wines.
