Information
Domaine de Montgilet is a family domain which has been showcasing the diverse terroirs of Anjou since the 1880s. The domain’s vines lie 10 minutes from the city of Angers in the south of the Loire in the Juigné municipality. The domain produces Coteaux de l’Aubance wines, with five single-parcel cuvées.
This wine is produced from the domain’s three terroirs, clay on blue schist, the slate massif of Angers-Trélazé, clay silt on grey schist. Harvests are done by hand, and fermentations take place in barrels with no yeasts added. The wines undergo élevage in concrete vats. To the eye, the wine is yellow with green reflections. On the nose, white flowers precede a fruity bouquet (quince paste, dried apricot and pineapple) with a honeyed profile. A well-balanced wine, perfect with a foie gras.
