Loire Valley | 2007 vintage
The Vallée de la Loire was one of the regions to have been hit the hardest, yet 2007 is a good year. April was full of surprises, with record levels of early maturing. But the months of June, July and especially August were cold, wet and rainy. The vines were ravaged by mildew. The month of September, however, saved the day: clement and warm, it dried the grapes and concentrated the sugar levels. Some harvesters were a little too quick off the mark at times. Generally speaking, the wines are characterised by very healthy grapes. Simultaneously pure, soft and aromatic with wonderful expression, the dry whites and sweet wines are remarkable.
