Champagne | 2006 vintage
The climate in this region is not much different from elsewhere: 2006 was very complicated. The vines suffered a mixed summer with a scorching July followed by a particularly rainy August. The rain in September then compromised the sanitary state of the grapes. The harvest had to be picked very quickly. The Pinot Noir had the most success this year, rivalling Meunier and even Chardonnay. The majority of the wines were low in acidity. 2006 is vintage-dated in all of the houses except Bollinger.
