Champagne | 2004 vintage
An incredibly abundant year, in which Chardonnay, a regular producer of large yields, was indisputably the best. Hence, there were more blanc de blanc cuvées than in other years. The Pinot Meunier, also very successful, produced some very good blends. Only the Pinot Noir was really affected by the high yields.
In August 2004, due to particularly heavy grape bunches, the profession feared that the dilution would compromise the level of acidity in the wines. But the excellent sanitary state of the grapes and an extremely rigorous sorting due to the abundant harvest, produces a very decent, almost exceptional vintage.
