Champagne | 2000 vintage
An average year in Champagne. A relatively mild winter followed by a succession of hot weather and storms throughout the flowering, ending with a fairly dry harvest marked this 2000 vintage. Better than 1999, this vintage is characterised by a lack of ripeness. The wines made with Meunier and Pinot Noirs are better than the Chardonnays, which did not ripen very well. Consequently, the vintage-dated blancs de blancs are often disappointing. The classical vintage-dated blends tend to be better.
