Burgundy | 2000 vintage
A good vintage which suffered from the changeable weather. On the whole, the whites are superior to the reds. After a particularly mild winter and very hot temperatures in May and June, the vines grew very quickly. Unfortunately, the cool weather and strong winds in July and August destroyed the region's hopes for a historical vintage. The majority of the harvests were picked under a bright blue sky. The quality of 2000 is mainly due to the ripeness of the grapes, the yields and the winemakers' savoir-faire. The white wines are rich, fruity and of great pureness. They have a bright future. The Chablis are exceptional, the Meursaults are rich, powerful and fat. Puligny and ChassagneIt distinguish themselves with a beautiful complexity. Fragile and tender, Pinot Noir does not cope well with abruptly changing weather conditions. The Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle Musigny and Nuits-St-Georges are very good. They have a beautifully bright and pronounced colour. The nose is fresh and fruity. They are balanced, supple and elegant on the palate, and show great potential.
