        Burgundy | 1951 vintage

In 1951, spring frosts, rain and mildew seriously threatened the harvest up until the end of August. Fortunately, the generally good weather of September saved the day. It helped the vines catch up with the three weeks lost due to the bad weather in August. October was also very conducive to vine growth, so much so that by mid-October ripening was very satisfactory. The spring frosts considerably reduced the harvests in varying degrees depending on the region. Generally the red wines have a lovely colour, are full-bodied and fine, with an occasional touch of liveliness that will fade in time. As for the white wines, which were produced in considerable reduced quantities, certain regions are more diversified.
