Burgundy | 1934 vintage
A mild, storm-free spring and a hot, bright summer, interspersed with refreshing showers produced unequalled grapes in the vineyards. The wine production in 1934 was also very abundant. Quality was extremely varied. The wines produced from vines with a normal volume of grapes had all the qualities of an outstanding year: very fruity, great finesse with a lovely colour. The wine produced from the vines with high yields was pretty low quality. Consequently, these wines were sold at a reduced rate. This also had the effect of increasing the value of the first class wines. These outstanding bottles deserve to feature in all the best cellars.
