Bordeaux | 1943 vintage
An early year, very hot and relatively dry, in which the war conditions were detrimental. This was an excellent vintage for red wines, particularly for Libourne, which were fairly mellow, full, rich and long, with just the right amount of tannic. These wines have already reached their peak. A good year for Sauternes, better than the previous one, with sappy, racy wines.
