Beaujolais | 2011 vintage
Beaujolais is a region which has been blessed in recent years, notably with an incredible series of very good vintages. 2009, 2010 and 2011 were all fine vintages here, each with its own characteristics. The weather in 2011 was quite favourable overall, with a particularly hot April and May, and although July proved to be very wet, August was settled and harvests were very early. In 2011, well-ripened, juicy cherry was the dominant aroma and taste. The ripeness of the vintage, which was at least comparable to 2009, was characterised by rather low acidity, which brings the fruity quality of wines to the fore.
