Malbec
Malbec originates from Cahors where it is also called "Auxerrois" and "Côt Noir". It is thanks to the agronomist Miguel Aymé; Pouget that this varietal found its way to Argentina in the 19 century. Since then, it has become a veritable star in Argentina and is widely cultivated. In fact, Argentina is the biggest producer of Malbec in the world with 21,000 hectares (France only has 7,000 hectares of Malbec vines).
