Carmenere

Carménère originates from Bordeaux. It is very late ripening grape (somewhere in between Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon) and can produce excellent wine either in a blend or on its own. This variety has become emblematic of Chile and has an enormous aromatic palette. It must be cultivated on terroirs that allow it to be harvested late.
