Wine for sale: Château Vieux Guinot
Château Vieux Guinot
Château Vieux Guinot, a Saint Emilion Grand Cru, has been in the family since 1729. Over the course of the 19th and 20th centuries, the property expanded, absorbing two other châteaux: Roc Saint Michel and Gaillard de la Gorce, also Grands Crus. Finally, in 1957, Jean-Pierre Rollet bought Château Fourney, another Saint Emilion Grand Cru. Vignobles Rollet thus owns 44 hectares made up of a mosaic of terroirs ranging from clay-limestone to silica-gravel. The vines currently consist of 70% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 16% Cabernet Sauvignon. The Rollet family also owns 20 hectares in the Côtes de Castillon appellation, divided between the two properties of Château Fourquerie and Château Grand Tertre.
