Château Nairac 2ème Grand Cru Classé (no reserve) 2004
The wine
Endowed with a golden colour, this wine is the product of vines that grow in the Garonne's siliceous gravel. Richly liquoreux, it unfurls intense aromas of creamy vanilla and tropical fruits. This concentrated, powerful wine is generous and supple on the palate. Its richness is heightened after multiple years of aging.
About the Producer Château Nairac
Nicolas Tari-Heeter, at the head of this estate since 1993, has brought this Barsac cru to the top of the Barsac wine hierarchy. This second cru classé in 1855 is located to the north of the appellation, less than 2 kilometres from the Garonne, which allows it to benefit perfectly from the humidity and autumn mists which are necessary for the development of botrytis. The vine varieties are largely dominated by Sémillon (90%)along with Sauvignon (6%) and Muscadelle (4%) and they are on average just over forty years old. Vinification is carried out in oak barrels (25% new), for 30 months.
