Lot presentation

Muscadet-Sèvre-et-Maine L D'Or Luneau-Papin (no reserve) 2011

The wine

The domain’s star cuvée, this one has been produced since 1976. The vines grow in a splendid terroir composed of granite and gneisses. The grapes are harvested by hand and the musts moved only using gravity to avoid any unwanted oxidation. As is tradition for Muscadet, the wine is matured on lees for 10 months after fermentation. The result is dazzling, full of freshness and finesse. Unsurprising that we find it at the tables of star restaurants.

About the Producer Luneau Papin

Domaine Luneau-Papin, lies in the Muscadet region, 20 km from Nantes, in the south of the Loire. The property extends over 40 hectares and is managed by Pierre and Monique Luneau who were joined by their son Pierre-Marie in 2005, representing the ninth generation of winemakers. Every parcel here is harvested by hand and vinified and matured individually to allow each terroir to express itself. The vineyards are planted exclusively with Melon de Bougogne. Today, the domain is so successful that more than half of its wines are exported overseas.
