Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Roger Belland (Domaine) (no reserve) 2008
The wine
Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet is one of the Domaine's greatest wines, being both powerful and elegant. On the nose it presents aromas of citrus fruit, acacia flowers, toast and spices. On the palate, it offers strength and finesse, plenty of body, highly complex aromas (honey, passion fruit and toasted almonds) and superb length. This wine should be drunk with fish and shellfish.
About the Producer Roger Belland
Roger Belland represents the fifth generation of his family at the head of the domaine where he works with his daughter Julie. The 23-hectare vineyard extends over the appellations of Santenay, Maranges, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, Volnay and Pommard, with many premier and grand crus. It is managed in a responsible, sustainable manner with grassy vines. The wines of this domaine are of a high standard: the clean white wines offer a good potential for aging and the reds are rather full-bodied.
