An organically certified Saint-Émilion Grand Cru that stands out for its elegance, balance and beautiful maturity. Give it a few years in the cellar, and you’ll be richly rewarded!
More infoOne of the historic estates of Saint-Émilion, Château de Ferrand delivers a carefully crafted blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and, when the vintage allows, a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon — added only when the berries reach the required level of quality. In the winery, each plot is vinified separately in temperature-controlled concrete vats. Malolactic fermentation takes place partly in barriques, before the wine is matured for 14 to 18 months in French oak with a mix of new wood and seasoned barrels.
In the glass, the hue is deep with purple and black glints. The nose offers a delicate balance of intensity and sweetness, with floral and blackcurrant notes. On the palate, it is supple and well-balanced, carried by fine, silky tannins.
Certified organic since 2024, this expressive wine is best served at 16°C and will age gracefully for several years.

About the Producer Château de Ferrand (Saint-Emilion)
The history of Château de Ferrand begins in the 18th century, and it has belonged to only two different families throughout its wine growing activity. Purchased in 1978 by famous businessman Baron Bich, the estate is now run by his daughter Pauline and her husband Philippe Chandon-Moët. They’ve been taking care of things since 2005, and together they’ve modernised much of the estate, including the winery which now places the grapes in vats with the help of gravity.
Located on the limestone plateau of Saint-Hippolyte, Château de Ferrand has 32 hectares of vines surrounded by 10 hectares of biodiverse forest and land. 70% of the vines are Merlot, with 29% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon keeping them company. Their sustainable viticulture is confirmed by a Terra Vitis certificate in 2012, and organic certification was awarded in 2024.
In the cellar, single-parcel vinification is prioritised and the wines are matured for 14 to 18 months, in a balance of new wood and used casks.
