About the Producer La Mondotte

Belonging to the same owner as Canon-la-Gaffelière and Clos de l'Oratoire, Mondotte has produced one of Bordeaux's most famous garage wines since 1996. That was when Stephan von Neipperg decided to try and extract the best from this terroir on Saint Emilion's eastern plateau, near Troplong Mondot, through reduced yields, meticulous vinification, and ageing entirely in new oak barrels. As a result, Mondotte is one of the most concentrated wines produced in Bordeaux.
