About the Producer Château Lynch Bages
Located on the outskirts of Pauillac, on one of the town’s most beautiful hilltops and overlooking the Gironde estuary, Château Lynch-Bages owes its name partly to the very old hamlet of Bages and partly to the Lynch family (of Irish descent), which looked after the estate’s destiny from the eighteenth century onwards. Bought by the Cazes family in 1934 and already highly renowned, Lynch Bages took a further step forwards when Jean-Michel Cazes arrived at the helm in 1974. Jean-Michel Cazes invested all his energy, talent and charisma in promoting the estate whose quality and reputation he further enhanced. However, he was to become the tireless ambassador not just for his own wine but for Bordeaux and for the whole French wine industry, travelling worldwide to meet an ever increasing circle of passionate wine enthusiasts. In 2006 he handed over the running of the estate to his son Jean-Charles who continues to maintain its high standards.
