The Mediterranean and Central Europe may be the cradle of viticulture, but today more than fifty countries produce wine. Vines require particular weather in order to grow and generally thrive best in temperate climates. Most winemaking regions are to be found in areas between 30° and 50° latitude.
This guide presents the most iconic wine regions in both France and abroad and includes information on the most important appellations, classifications, domains and cuvées. Information on individual wines includes ratings (Robert Parker, La RVF, Bettane + Desseauve and Jancis Robinson), tasting notes, vintage scores, details on how the wine was made and, of course, the iDealwine price estimate.
