Château Cantemerle's wine is full of charm, developing flavours of black cherry and blackberry. Its tannins are silky on the palate and linger well. Pleasant and elegant from the outset, the wine has a good aging potential. It expresses the fullness of its aromas and all its power and complexity after a decade. To the delight of wine enthusiasts, the wines eventually become more supple and velvety. This high-quality cru classé is excellent value for money.
About the Producer Château Cantemerle
An 1855 Cru Classé, Château Cantermerle's vineyard consists of plots of fine gravel soil beside the Gironde estuary.
Wine production at this property can be traced back to 1350, which now belongs to the French insurance group, Mutuelles d'Assurances du Bâtiment et des Travaux Publics. The beautiful château has a magnificent park and a particularly well-cared for vineyard. The grapes are harvested and meticulously sorted by hand; each plot is then vinified separately in oak vats. The selection process at the blending stage determines what proportions of which vats go into the first and second wines, with rigorous respect for the maintenance of cru classé quality.
