Bandol Cuvée spéciale Lafran-Veyrolles 2001
The wine
The Cuvée Spéciale has a sanguine, spicy nose that is discrete in young vintages but opens up with the years. On the palate, the tannins soften over time and the élevage becomes perfectly integrated.
About the Producer Lafran-Veyrolles
This 10-hectare organic vineyard is one of Bandol’s oldest domains. The domain has belonged to the same family since 1405 and has been producing wine since then. These are traditional Bandols and so Mourvèdre is the dominant grape. They are all matured for more than 18 months in casks.
