The wine

Located south of Volnay and Pommard, at the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is regarded as one of the largest and highest quality terroirs in the Côte d’Or. The Charmes vineyard, nestling to the south of Meursault, is reputed to be one of the finest in the appellation. The exceptionally well-drained, mineral soils are particularly well suited to Chardonnay vines. Le Clos du Moulin aux Moines respects tradition and vinifies its white wines in barrels and casks. Fermentations are spontaneous and wines are matured for long periods in the estate’s emblematic 15th century cellars.
This Premier Cru boasts a brilliant yellow colour and reveals an expressive bouquet of yellow fruit combined with subtle toasty notes. On the palate, the attack is characterised by a generous structure. The nutty aromas combine beautifully with pear and citrus zest flavours, leading to a fine, well-balanced finish.
