Central Otago Felton Road Block 2 Chardonnay 2022

The wine

Felton Road Block 2 Chardonnay is vinified and matured in French oak used several wines before: no yeast is added, and there is no fining or filtering. The finesse of Chardonnay is expressed through lemon and acacia blossom notes, while maintaining a vivacity that allows the wine to express itself fully right through to the finish.

France is not the only country where a love of the terroir encourages winegrowers to adopt biodynamic practices, as has been demonstrated by the Felton Road domaine in Central Otago New Zealand since 2002. For twenty years, Nigel Greening's vineyard, which is split between four outstanding parcels, has been producing authentic, delicate wines while respecting the soil and vines. These wines set a benchmark, as is demonstrated by their 13th position in the Drinks International magazine rankings.
