About the wine
A small commune of Burgundy, the Saint-Romain vineyards, next to those of Auxey-Duresses, are situated at a higher altitude (400 metres at its peak) than the average Côte d'Or. Saint-Romain wines have a moderately intense colour; their aromas reveal bitter cherry, redcurrant and blackcurrant buds. They later develop smoky and steeped fruits aromas. Slightly more severe when young, they need a bit of time to tone down the tannin and strong acidity to acquire an elegant and firm body.
