Bonnezeaux Tri De Vendanges Domaine De Terrebrune 1990
The wine
This wine features among Anjou's most famous crus, and is made in the municipality of Thouarcé, approximately 20 km away from Angers. Made from over-ripened Chenin Blanc that is harvested in successive sorting processes, this fortified white wine owes all of its qualities to its exceptional home soil: three steep, small schist soil slopes with a full south-facing position. Easily affected by noble rot, the grapes produce rich wine with great complexity. Incredibly fragrant and bursting with sap, the Bonnezeaux is more supple than its Quarts-de-Chaume cousin. This wine is designed to be aged for vast periods of time, developing velvety notes of pineapple and apricot in its young stages, and developing a complex bouquet of creamy vanilla over time.
