Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru Château de Puligny-Montrachet 2007
The wine
Chevalier-Montrachet bears the title of grand cru for a reason. Its vineyards are planted on the uppermost part of the Puligny-Montrachet hillside. The wine is often considered to be the best of the three grand crus on this legendary hill (Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet). The domaine uses 5-20% new barrels made with Allier wood. After élevage in wood for one year, the wine is aged for a further four to six months in stainless steel vats to add vivacity.
