About the Producer Bellefont-Belcier
Château Bellefont-Belcier is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé which is spread over around 20 hectares of cool soils (clay and limestone) ideal for growing Merlot. It was created in the late 18th century by the Count of Belcier. The word Bellefont which was added to the name alludes to the nearby ‘belles fontaines' (beautiful fountains). In 1889, the Faure family bought the estate and brought the quality of the wines to among the finest in the appellation. 100 years later, the estate was again modernized.
