Alsace Riesling Clos Liebenberg Valentin Zusslin (Domaine) 2008
The wine
This Riesling comes from a 3.5 hectare parcel adjoining the Grand Cru Pfingstberg. Certified biodynamic, the fruit undergoes a long, gentle pneumatic pressing before fermentation using indigenous yeast and the wine is maturated on its lees in barrels. Intense aromas of ripe yellow fruits greet the palate. At once elegant and full-bodied, this cuvée pairs well with regional specialities and goats cheese.

The 16 hectare estate which is based in Orschwihr, just south of Colmar, converted to biodynamic viticulture in 1997. Wines are produced from a total of 9 different grape varieties, featuring crystalline whites and structured Pinot Noirs perfect for cellaring.
