Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Bouchard Père & Fils 2012

The wine

On the nose, Charmes-Chambertin evokes aromas of red fruit (cherry, blackcurrant) and some earthy notes (mushrooms). It is generally thought to have got its name from its voluptuous and seductive character, which is more prominent than in other grand crus. Bordering Morey, it is impossible not to bring Clos Saint-Denis to mind. This robust wine has very good aging potential.
